This video motives young people from differente countries who has experience with children to apply to Cultural Care Aupair. Click on the link to watch the video:
Before a Cultural Care au pair is accepted for placement, she must pass through several steps of an extensive screening process. This screening cycle plays a crucial role in determining an applicant’s suitability for the au pair program. In addition to assuring that an au pair candidate meets the U.S. Department of State Regulations, the screening process developed and implemented by Cultural Care targets five major criteria on which it bases a decision to accept or reject an applicant:
- Childcare experience
- English language ability
- Maturity/suitability to spend a year abroad
- Interest in cultural exchange
- Good health
While these five categories represent the focus of Cultural Care’s screening efforts, the evaluation of an au pair candidate is not limited to these issues. Through personal interviews, calls to references, English evaluation, completion of a personality profile, criminal background check, and a highly structured screening and orientation meeting, Cultural Care actively collects information to evaluate each au pair. In addition, Cultural Care carefully reviews material submitted by references, health care providers, and candidates themselves.

W.C. Johnson Park - Water Spray Park

Located at Wolf Ridge Drive and Johnson Park, Collierville. 135-acre park has natural areas, wetlands, two lakes, elevated boardwalk, and outdoor classroom. Park hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week.
The water spray park has 12 “stations” in a total area slightly larger than the size of a basketball court. There are two “touchstone” poles that activate the spray stations, which resemble elephants, rainbows and other items. The water sprays for a set amount of time until the poles are touched again. An overall park timing system shuts the water off at night.
Collierville is the only city in the area to have such water spray parks. “They are just like a regular playground structure but instead of sliding down a slide, children play in water,” said Collierville Parks Director Greg Clark. “It’s a new concept. It’s been very popular across the country.”
No lifeguard is needed at the water park since there is no water depth. A central drain moves the water off the area. The surfaces are lined with a soft, rubber-coated material to make it safe for children.
July Aupair meeting - “Food Safety”

“Food safety” will be our subject in our meeting of this month. It will be Friday, July 20 at 7 p.m. at your LCC’s house. We will have a guest Mr. Neal Cordell, who is a Wellness teacher at Southwest Community College.
Many of the aupairs come from countries where thier mom cooks using fresh vegetables, fruit and meat. In other words most aupairs have a healthy menu, but when they come to United States their diet change.
This meeting is to help the aupairs to make better choices in their food when they go to the supermarket, and when they go out to restaurants. Also to help the aupairs to suggest better food for luch boxes for their host children.
